What I Want for Christmas Linky!

I'm linking up with Hope from Second Grade Shenanigans for a linky that is right up my alley. I love shopping, although I don't do it all the time... I also love making lists, so doing this linky was a no-brainer. After a few years of having NO snow days in my district, we are on our second for this year! I was already awake and getting ready when I got the call, so I parked it on the couch and I'm catching up on all the fun teaching stuff that I usually don't have time for!

I pretty much would love my whole wishlist board on Pinterest.
Kate Spade Planner.

These TOMS Ballet Flats have been on my list for awhile!

I love these Ray-Bans, but I would never spend more than $20 on sunglasses.
I lose them or sit on them, every. single. time.

MAC Honey Lust Eyeshadow!

Hunter rain boots.

I love these Mother Daughter necklaces!

Teachers love a good Tervis. This is one that I really love!

I love getting gift cards too. Something about not having to spend my own money on things! I can always use gift cards for Target, Wal-Mart and Ikea. Those are my stores that I frequent for teacher related purchases!

Here are some things for my girls this year:
I'm all over the sweet headbands for the new bb.

Lil has one of these on the way!

I'm also going bonkers over cute little rompers.

Julie Albright is at the top of L's list!

She also loves Calico Critters!

My husband isn't the easiest to buy for... Especially when there are no OSU Football tickets on sale yet! I have something special up my sleeve for him that I just can't mention! :)

What is on your wishlist?!

BRIGHTS Classroom Packs!

Hey guys. How is your summer going?
Mine is flying right by.
I'm headed out of town with some teacher friends for a girls weekend and then it's down to business getting ready for the school year.
I'm giving myself until the end of next week to start getting prepared. I'm still not 100% on what I'm teaching. GRR. It's either 2 or 4, and I'm hoping to know more at the end of the month. Is anyone else changing assignments??

Here are some new items I've added to my shop!
This item has 156 labels for your classroom library.
I tried to do everything I could think of, if there is anything missing that you'd love to have, message me and I'd love to get them to you!

These are so cute and I can't wait to use them with a black background in my classroom for that maximum POP! Can you tell I'm loving brights right now??

These will go great with the headers at the top. The background is multi-colored polka dots and included dolch sight words from Pre-Primer up!

I'm trying to get out there and get some more feedback, so if you are one of the 70 sales I've had so far, please go back and leave me feedback. It is really encouraging for me to see that what I'm making is making a difference for someone!

I hope you all are having a great summer and follow my IG for frequent updates. I've become quite obsessed with making teaching friends on there!

{Currently}

So, my Currently is just a smidgen late!
Here it goes!

Goosebumps has 13 episodes that just popped up on Netflix.
We've watched half already.
I just loved Goosebumps as a kid, and these shows are the super cheese, but I still love them anyways.

Instagram is fun. It has become even cooler now that I'm connecting with so many teachers. I mean, Sarah Cooley follows me. I almost DIED. She is one of my teaching idols.
Before I got my first job last year (there was a possibility of me being in first) I bought so many items in her shop and still find ways to use them in third or with my daughter. She is seriously the coolest. Follow me on IG: riedmillersroom

I signed up for this week long training session for the new Third Grade Guarantee.
I'm actually really glad that I'm on board. I'll learn about all the new things that are going on with legislation and I know it will be useful!

I'm wanting some sleep. Having to be in that training all day today (after my body has been in summer mode for almost two weeks) killed me. I came home exhausted. Tomorrow I'm planning a nap afterwards!

Is it October yet? The Walking Dead returns and I cannot wait to see what's going on at the prison. I'll leave it at that so there's no spoilers.
Anyone else out there having walker withdrawls???

Three essentials for vacation. Vacation that I'm NOT going on this year... would be flip flops, maxi dresses and shades. Maxis have been my summer go to. I need some new summer shades. BAD!

Made It Monday {Getting in the groove!}

Made it Monday is back. I know I'm not the only one that is SO excited!
Head over to Fourth Grade Frolics tomorrow and check out some ideas for DIY classroom goodies. I am kind of in a creative rut. I have some ideas here and there and this week is going to be a digital Made it Monday.

I really want to know what will be this year's Teacher Toolbox?
You know what I mean? The IT thing this year that all the teachers will be making!

I still am not sure if I'll be in 4th LA or 2nd grade next year, but I do know one thing.
My classroom theme is going to be BRIGHTS. I'm talking super bright neon almost colors.
I was excited to get started so I made myself a Word Wall.
It ended up being a rather large file (over 70 pages) so I made it into two.
The headers may be my favorite part. They turned out awesome!

The card are really cute, too!
I can't wait to get these on my blackboard for a huge POP of color!

What are you girls working on this week?
I can't wait to see.

BTW are you joining in on all of the IG fun? I feel like I've been "meeting" so many teacher friends on there. My name is RiedmillersRoom find me and we'll be pals! :)

Teacher Appreciation Week

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, All!
I know everyone will be stocking their carts over the next couple of days and I am no exception. I already have a ton of items I've moved over from my Wish List to my Cart on TpT. I have found a few really awesome 2nd Grade blogs over the past couple of weeks and Second Story Window is one of my favorites. I purchased their Fluency Homework for some of my lower performing kiddos this year and now that I'll actually be in second, I'm going to get their Morning Work set to make books for my students next year!

Any awesome 2nd grade recommendations? I'm taking them!

I am participating in the sale, so you can get any of my items UP TO 28% off when you use the code TAD13 from Teachers Pay Teachers. Here are some of my favorites:
My Guided Reading Menu Pack is my best-seller. Now is the time to get it. This has activities that students can do with any Fiction story during class. You can use them as early finishers, a graded packet or extra sheets during Guided Reading time.
The possibilities are endless.

It's still not too late to get my Spring Fever writing pack. There are still prompts you can use this year, and there are a ton that you can add to your plans for next school year also!

My Reading Log pack is ADORABLE and functional. Both rolled into one. I love this pack because it includes everything you would need to start reading logs for your class. Parent letter, log and sentence starters are all included.

I also have some great classroom decoration and bulletin board items. Now is the perfect time to stock up for next year. Seriously, this is the best time. I know I'm already thinking about what my room will look like next year.

And don't forget my Teacher To-Do Post-It Freebie!

Head on over and get your shop on!

OH AND FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM! Linking up on Tuesdays has been so much fun!

{Teacher Talk Tuesday & Some News!}

I noticed that just recently I started seeing a lot of teaching blogs pop up on Instagram.
Little did I know, this little linky was floating around. So, I'm linking up with What the Teacher Wants! and Apples and ABC's.

Sign me up!
I love Instagram, I had an account when the app first came around and then started a new one for my Thirty-One business with some classroom photos here and there. I'm so excited to see so many classroom pictures on Instagram. I'm looking forward to linking up each week, even though we only have FOUR TUESDAYS LEFT. FOUR!!!
Go over and follow me: @riedmillersroom

Also... I am 99% sure that next year I will be a second grade teacher!
I am beyond excited. I love third grade, and really wish I could stay, but alas, I must move. I was the last one in! I'm headed down to second (same hallway FTW), so this summer I will be moving my classroom, working with a new team and getting into second grade mode.
I hope 2nd graders can handle me.
One of my girls told me this week that I was one hard pickle. HA!
So... Michelle, be kind with those class lists. I'm a little worried about my experiences with first grade recess duty this year. :X

What are you all up to?
How are you getting ready for the end of the year?
Any advice for a new second grade teacher? I'm looking for awesome second grade blogs.

New Teacher Blog Tuesday!

Can I just say that the dreaded state test had taken over my life?
Our 3rd Grade LA test was Monday... We take the Math tomorrow, but my part is done.
I have to let it all go.
Most of my colleagues say now I should feel relieved because it's out of my hands, but CONFESSION: I feel out of control, because it's OUT OF MY HANDS!
My Principal said I'll feel better by the end of the week, we'll see!

Head over to Fun in 1st Grade because today I'm being featured on
New Teacher Blog Tuesday!
So exciting...

Have a good week. I'm sure I'll be back soon now that THE TEST is over!
:)

{Spring Break!}

It is finally Spring Break in my neck of the woods and instead of sun, we have snow.
You heard that right. It just keeps on coming. Things should be back to normal by the weekend, you know, right before we all head back to school.
Boo!

Here is my door I promised to show everyone!
I know you all have seen this before on Pinterest, but I loved how it turned out. I laminated the pictures with their suns so the students can take them home at the end of the year. I felt like this door was more appropriate for the end of the school year.
What do you think? Sorry the picture is so crummy!

Anyone feeling my frustrations with this time of year? I had a student leave me this little gem on our half-length test. The Reading OAA is at the end of April and this student is more than capable of doing a great job. I think they're about as wore out as I am!
BUTTER?!?!

The Book Fair came to town and each of our teachers gets $50 to spend from the PTO. Pretty lucky, huh?
I got some fun third grade titles. It was pretty hard for me to shop since I don't know what grade I'll be teaching next school year. At this point it's looking more like fourth grade, which I would LOVE, but we'll see. Second may still be in there.
I've gotten my kids in Goosebumps this year. R.L. Stine is one of MY favorites.
I follow him on Twitter!

I also have had two more Thirty-One parties this month since I last blogged. It is really taking off for me. We have a big meeting next month where we're introduced to the new Summer catalog. I am beyond excited. I'm going to have a big Open House in May.
This is my bag of Consultant fun I carry with my from party to party.. :)

I also made my first Springware purchase at Target. I couldn't pass these sandals up. I may go back and buy another pair because I think these will be my new staples. ;)

What have you girlies been up to?
Any fun in the sun?
I'm about to get to the tanning bed.. I know it's so bad, but I need to feel some warmth!!

{Currently: March}

Linking up with Farley for another edition of Currently!
Wow, that pink is not so easy to read :(

Listening to Cinderella:
My three year old is obsessed with Cinderella. That was her movie of choice tonight!

Loving:
My new class door! We're doing something totally awesome and I wish I could take all of the credit for it, but it was something that I found on Pinterest. If we don't have a snow day tomorrow (we will!) then I will post pictures after I finish before Thursday... I'm so excited for it. It looks so cute!

Thinking:
I have so many ideas of how to use Thirty-One in my classroom and I'm really excited to get started. Mainly, it will be better for this summer and preparing my class for next school year. I don't want to get too crazy when we literally have TWO MONTHS OF SCHOOL LEFT. Did you all hear that?! Two months.

Wanting:
That's right guys, no snow day in two years. We had a delay two weeks ago and that was rare... Everyone is telling me not to get my hopes up, but they are forecasting 4-6 inches of snow for tonight. I will riot if the weather does not deliver. I need another day to avoid Aims Web and Progress Monitoring :X

Needing:
I keep seeing all of these cute nails on Pinterest and I really want to get on the bandwagon. I'm thinking a solid color and then super solid glitter on my ring finger. Ya dig?

Like, Love, Hate:
Liking Reese's Eggs and the fact that they're back! Anyone else notice how they taste so much better than those stinkin' trees they put out at Christmas?!

Loving that now there is such a thing as REESE'S EGGS ICE CREAM. WHATTTT????
We just found out tonight and I'll will stalking down some in Kroger tomorrow... On my day off! HA!

Hating that it's not Spring Break yet. I have two more weeks and I know the school year will flash by when we come back. It already has gone by so quickly. It has been my first year teaching (after one full year subbing and one full year as an aide for a student with special needs).. and I cannot believe that it's almost over. Where has the time gone?

Enjoy your night darlings...
Put those jammies on inside out and drop two ice cubes in the toilet, flush and think of me!

{This & That on a Monday}

Hey guys!
Things are getting heavy over here, but have no fear! I have a couple of projects up my sleeve AND a couple of personal days I plan on taking advantage of. We have OAA, Spring Break, 3rd Grade Dodgeball Tournament, A Reds Game Field Trip, A Town Tour Field Trip and so much more before the end of the year.
This is the time where it all starts FLYING BY!

Here's a look at what I've been up to:
I started reading an old favorite. I LOVE books written around the Civil War and then after during the Civil Rights Movement.. My favorite two time periods, by far.

I've been sulking because my Much Ado About You planner will be up this summer. Technically I already have another waiting to take it's place, but I'm just really glad that Emmy may have found a way to get this planner business going again.
Erin Condren, who? I don't want a 50 lb. planner.

Looking ahead!
I have a 31 Party this weekend (super excited!!!)
I'm planning on making my nails look pretty before Parent Teacher Conferences Thursday
I also need to make my door look pretty... Tune in later this week for more on that.
I'll give you a hint, we're taking pictures of everyone wearing "shades."
And I have much more organizing to do!

If you're getting ready for St. Patrick's Day, check out these two activities in my story for some interactive and creative writing fun!
Have a good week girls!

These will be a nice little break from testing. We already did the Valentine writing activities in the Spring Fever pack and we'll be doing the Lucky Me packet during our class party!

{Five for Friday!}

Whew! This week is over and I cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow.
We're watching Charlotte's Web after a very long Read Across America Day.
I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for my second Five for Friday!
Weee!

{One}

I'm proud of my Cat in the Hat Cat Hats that I made for my guys today to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday (it's tomorrow!)
The kids loved them, except for one who asked if he could have watermelon on his. LOL.

{Two}
Wondering how I got those AND twenty Kool-Aid Jammers to school?
That would be my amazing thermal that I received for hosting my first Thirty-One party.
This sucker is a hostess exclusive and you would not believe how many people have parties just to get this one item. It holds two large Pyrex dishes. Stop. I know.

{Three}
We enjoyed our snacks while reading some Dr. Seuss favorites and working on a reading passport. Today was super laid back and I wish that's how all of our Fridays were. My grading is all finished and now I just have to put those grades in PB and I'm all caught up!

{Four}
My hunny and I got to go to the movies together last weekend. We saw Snitch with The Rock. We love Dwayne Johnson and his movies so it was a must see. We were really impressed with the story and loved seeing him in a role where he wasn't whipping tail the whole time. His shirt stayed on, and that was the worst part. HA!

{Five}
Any Duck Dynasty fans out there?
If you don't like DD, just leave this blog now and we'll pretend like this never happened.
I love me some Uncle Si.
Hey! That's rule #1, if you wanna be my friend, you have to love Uncle Si.
My BFF Kristin gets it.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
I'm headed to our school Fun Fest tomorrow and I am determined to come home with some great door prizes.

{Popping In!}

Hi girls (probably not any guys out there)!
I am DOG TIRED.
I have six ETR's, some of which have already taken place and some that are coming up, 38 school days until our state test (but who is counting??), and grading out the wazoo. I have many other things going on as well, like after school reading class for some kids that need intervention and Brain Fest which is our twice a week, schedule changing, OAA prep.
Couple all of that with a booming Thirty-One business, keeping with with TpT and not to mention my family, and I am wore out.

I haven't posted in a little while and that is all why. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here.. barely holding on.

My Guided Reading Packet keeps doing really well!
Click here to check it out in my shop!

And my Spring Fever Writing Pack has finally caught on too. This has eight really great writing prompts and papers for the Spring with some Melonheadz Illustrations!
Check it out here!

Any tips for getting customers to leave feedback? I wish my feedback reflected how many items I've sold.. I'll get there some day, I suppose. I just always put a lot of thought into leaving feedback for other sellers. I wish everyone did the same.

 I have moved up to Senior Consultant recruiting two people within my FIRST month, they give you six months guys... and I did it in one. I already love working for Thirty-One. The customer service is ridiculous and I've met some really cool girls so far. Our next big meeting is the Summer Catalog Reveal at Kings Island.. We get a free product at each meeting, like seriously... a nice item. This is what I got a couple weeks ago just for attending a two hour meeting!
HELLO SUMMER GO TO!

I also have a Hang-Up Family Organizer coming my way. When that comes in I'll show you how I plan on using it in my classroom!

PS
You all know about these staplers, right?
I will never do A-Z Readers without them again..
LIFE SAVER!

What are you all up to??
My randomness is over!
